Tynefield Court is a purpose-built 45-bed home. Every bedroom is a single room, attractively decorated and comfortably furnished, and every one of them is on the ground floor.

Residents are encouraged to make their room their own and can bring small favourite items of furniture with them. Our bathrooms are large and can take the equipment needed to offer a bath or a shower to residents with the highest support needs.

The home provides places for people to come together, and respects the right of anyone who would rather stay in their own room. There is more than one choice of communal space.

Services in the home

24-hour registered nursingThe home is staffed by a registered nurse 24 hours a day, supported by qualified care assistants. All care is overseen by a registered nurse who completes a plan of care based on need.

Specialist neurological careExperienced in the specialist care of younger adults living with neurological conditions, alongside general nursing care for older people.

MealsA varied menu of traditional cooking with alternative choices for personal likes and dislikes. Special diets catered for, with a choice at every meal, and care staff trained to assist anyone who needs help to eat or drink.

Healthcare and GP accessAn excellent relationship with a local surgery; new residents may keep their own GP if appropriate. Private chiropody available and a visiting optician attends annually.

ActivitiesAn activities co-ordinator works with residents individually or in groups. Bingo, music therapy, coffee mornings, cinema trips, art and craft, movement to music, armchair exercises, sing-alongs and regular walks.

HairdressingOur hairdresser visits weekly and can provide a range of services in the hairdressing salon on site.

LaundryA full laundry service is provided. Dry cleaning can be arranged at the resident's expense. We request items are named.

Spiritual careVisits by local clergy are welcomed, with a regular Holy Communion service held in the home each month for those who wish to take part.

Personal effects and petsResidents are encouraged to personalise their rooms and can bring small favourite items of furniture. Small pets may be accommodated following discussion with the proprietors, staff and existing residents.

Telephone and televisionA telephone point and television aerial in every bedroom. Residents wishing to subscribe to Sky may do so.
